About Karen Brady-Ellis

I have over 20 years of professional experience working with children and families. I specialize in dealing with challenging behaviors and diagnosis including ADHD, ADD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Bi-Polar and Impulse control Disorders. I am also the proud mother of two boys, one of which is a high intensity child, and the Nurtured Heart Approach has been a life saver in our house. Every child has a right to revel in their own greatness and every parent has a right to nurture and promote their child’s self-esteem and image.

What Can I Do to Help You and Your Child?

  • I focus on people who want non “woo woo” self help; people who are open to alternative perspectives regarding their situations and challenges. I focus on people who don’t want a relationship with their past anymore and are ready to move forward and be in the beauty of the present moment.
  • I offer individual, couple, and family therapy. Family therapy can occur in the home or in my office.
  • I also provide an in-home Nurtured Heart Approach crash course teaching parents how to transform their child’s challenging behaviors in 4 weeks.
  • I provide group trainings/parenting courses teaching the Nurtured Heart Approach.
  • I provide pilot programs in schools teaching the Nurtured Heart Approach to educators so they can have the class they’ve always dreamed of.

Individuals

I work with people who want to clarify their identity and live more authentically. I also work with anyone who lives an alternative lifestyle. This includes blended families and unconventional family systems, as well as poly-amorous, multi-partner, and any other way people can and want to be in relationships with one another.

Couples

I work with couples who are at an impasse or facing separation or divorce. I help them learn better ways to celebrate one another in a way that is authentic and honest. I also help people manage the difficulties of being vulnerable and open in relationships as well as help them let go of resentment. Furthermore, I provide alternative perspectives to what is “normal” and how to buck cultural expectations and judgments with regard to marriage/relationships. I help couples develop their own rules and ways of being in relationship to one another despite the “cultural norms”. I also help separating couples understand how to manage difficult feelings as they move towards redefining their relationship from an intimate one to friendship.
